OBITUARY.
RICHARD GRIPMAN died of cancer Oct. 11th, 1895. He was born in Lenawee County, Michigan, May 17th 1842, and moved with his father’s family to Winnesheik Co., Iowa in the spring of 1855, where he has since resided in Canoe Township.
His long illness was attended with great suffering at times, but was borne with Christian fortitude and patience. He was never heard to complain, was happy in the love of Jesus and rejoiced in the thought of soon meeting his loved ones who had crossed over the river before him. He often calmly spoke of his death and tried to console his friends by assuring them they would soon meet again. He praised the Lord for His goodness to him to the last. He leaves many relatives and friends to mourn the loss of a true and nobleman. Yes, our loss is great, but his gain is much greater. Four brothers and four sisters survive him.
