Dies at Kasota, Minn.
Intelligence came last Monday to his friends here of the death of Patrick O’Rourke who was for a long time a resident of Decorah. The event occured last Friday, the 27th, and resulted from what is known as “stone-cutter’s consumption.” The disease first attacked Mr. O’Rourke in Ohio; but he came to Iowa and as soon as he got away from the disease he improved and became comparatively well again. A few years ago he removed to Kasota, Minn., where there was a larger field for occupation at his trade, and again became a prey to the disease. Stonecutters say it is one that particularly affects workers in soft sandstone, and is practically unknown on hard lime rock. Mr. O’Rourke's age was about 55 years.
