A. K. Treadwell Dies in Kansas.
Frank M. Coleman writes us that A. K. Treadwell, for twenty years a resident of Castalia, died at Minneapolis, Kan., on Sunday, the 18th. Mr. C. supplies the following brief obituary:—
Albion K. Treadwell was born at Buxton, Maine, Sept. 15, 1824, was married to Miss Emily Nute, Jan. 8, 1848. In same year he moved to Saco, same state, and worked in cotton mills for 20 years, then he went to Lewiston and remained as superintendent of the Lincoln Cotton Mills for 20 years. In 1868 he moved to Castalia, Iowa, and farmed until 1880 when he was admitted to the bar. In Dec. 1887, to regain his health, he moved to Minneapolis, Kan., and practiced law until the following spring when he was taken sick and was confined to his bed almost constantly until his death which occurred here Sunday morning, Aug. 18. He was a member of the Baptist church.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Highland Cemetery in Minneapolis, KS.
