DIED.
PLATO-Of kidney trouble, in Decorah, Iowa, May 1st, 1895, P. C. Plato, aged 84 years, 10 months, 10 days.
Mr. Plato was one of the early pioneers. He was born in Genesee Co., N. Y., June 20, 1810, and was married there to Sarah Kendall who passed away in December, 1884. They first moved to Wisconsin in 1844, then to Iowa in 1861, where he has since resided. He was kind hearted, always ready and willing to help those in trouble. He was the father of six children, four of whom survives. Mr. Plato cast his first Presidential vote for John Quincy Adams before he was of age and has always been a staunch Republican, voting at every presidential election since. He has been a great sufferer for six weeks, and most of his last words were calling on Jesus to forgive him. Funeral service will be held at the Russell school house at two o’clock, Friday afternoon, Rev. D. L. Hilliard presiding. M. B.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Russell Cemetery.
