Death of Nelson M. Webster We find the following in a copy of the Argus-Leader of Sioux Falls - Deceased was the elder brother of Mrs. R. B. Tuttle, of this city:—
ROWENA, Dec. 26.—Nelson M. Webster, an old and highly esteemed citizen, died on Sunday last after a short but very severe illness. He was taken sick on Friday night but it was not thought serious. On Saturday he was up and around his home doing little odd jobs of work. That night he was suddenly taken seriously ill with inflammation of the intestines. He has had such spells before but would never consent to call a physician. This time he wanted a doctor and one was immediately sent for. The doctor arrived and did everything that was possible to save the patient but it was of no use. Death followed after a short but severe struggle.
Mr. Webster was born February 20, 1833, upon a farm near Albany, N, Y. At the age of 18 he moved to Winnesheik county, Iowa. By his industry and perseverance he after a time became the owner of a fine farm there. He remained single until his 46th year, when he married Mrs. Davidson. The fruit of their union is three boys and a girl, all living. In 1891 he removed to Rowena where he has since lived upon his farm. During his residence here he has held the respect of everyone for his integrity and uprightness. He was a true friend and one of the best of neighbors, His aid in times of need has been generously given to any worthy cause, in his death this community has suffered a very severe loss. He will be buried to-day in Mount Pleasant cemetery.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he died Dec. 23, 1894 and is buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD.
