—David Bell, who died recently at West Union left $1500 each to the Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist and Universalist churches, each church to chose two of its safest and best men to loan out the money, the interest to be used in paying the minister’s salary and for no other purpose.
He was a miser, we are told.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born May 1, 1808 and died Dec. 1, 1896. He is buried in the West Union Cemetery.
