A Sad Home Coming.
The remains of Agnes H. Meader were brought from Minneapolis on Saturday afternoon last for interment beside those of her father, the lamented Charles E. Meader. They were met at the depot by a large number of old family friends and acquaintances, and taken to the cemetery where a brief service was conducted by Rev. J.B. Bidwell, assisted by a choir consisting of Misses Auchmoody and Wagar, and Messrs. Hopperstad and Adams.
Miss Aggie was the youngest daughter of her family and was born at Bluffton Sept. 19th, 1876. Since leaving Decorah, six years ago she has availed herself of all possible educational advantages, and young as she was had arrived at a position of self-support, and was possessed of high ambitions for future usefulness. Three weeks ago she was taken ill with marked indications of typhoid fever. This was aggravated with a serious nevous complication, and in eighteen days the disease ran its course to a fatal termination. A large sympathy is felt for the mother and sisters thus bereft of their darling. This was exhibited by the spontaneous attendance of a very unusual number at the burial service.Transcriber’s Note: Find a grave shows she is buried at Phelps Cemetery.
