Cornelius (generally known as Charlie) Lundby was killed by a mad bull at his place about one mile north of Ridgeway Monday. The bull had gone into a neighbor’s pasture and Mr. Lundby went to get him. The bull became infuriated and made an attack on Mr. Lundby. He hit him with his head and threw him high in the air. Then he tramped him till the right side of his chest was crushed in. Ole Christen, a neighbor, happened along and helped him. He was still alive and was taken to the Cresco hospital, where he died less than an hour after the accident.
He was a prosperous farmer 65 years old. He is survived by his widow, two sons, Elling and Gilbert, and three daughters, two of whom are married. —Decorah Journal.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name as Karelius and that he was born Oct. 16, 1839 and died Aug. 30, 1915. He is buried in Madison Lutheran Cemetery.
