Charles Paulk Dead.
Charles Paulk, who in the early '70s was a member of the farm implement firm of Paulk & Comstock, in this city, died Monday last at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Paul, after an illness of about three weeks. Mr. Paulk came in from a trip on the road and complained of being very tired. He immediately went to bed and slept almost continually for a week, on the eighth day showing signs of delirium. Physicians were called and he was taken to the hospital, where he continued to get worse, paralysis seeming to have invaded almost every part of his body. He was a representative of the Nichols & Dean hardware company, and it is thought that carrying too many heavy sample grips had much to do with breaking down his system.
Mr. Paulk was a son of Hon. Charles Paulk, of Waukon, and almost 50 years of age. He was married to Miss Clara Horton in 1871, the same year that he came to Decorah to live. They moved from here to St. Paul many years ago. The funeral services will be held in the First M. E. church, of St. Paul, of which Mr. Paulk was a member, this afternoon, and the remains will brought to Decorah for interment. Burial will be made direct from the Milwaukee depot tomorrow morning at {?}:15.
Many friends will join in condolence to Mrs. Paulk in her bereavement, and in mourning the end of a genial, sincere man.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1846 and died Dec. 7, 1897; however, it is unknown where he is buried.
