Peggy Schneider, age 67, of Decorah, IA, died on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Waukon, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2020, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Peter Kowitz presiding. Burial will be in the Phelps Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday morning at the church. For those that cannot attend, the service will be livestreamed. https://youtu.be/2GDjN_Tvy1M

Everyone attending is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Peggy Sue (Kaltenbach) Schneider was born on October 5, 1953, the daughter of Lloyd William and Eloise (Durey) Kaltenbach, in Oelwein, IA. She attended elementary school in La Puente, CA and middle and high school in Oelwein, IA. Peggy was blessed with 5 daughters, Tabetha, Samantha, Barbie, Lynn, and Teri. Who were more than just her daughters, they were her best friends.

Being a hard worker was something Peggy was known for. She often poured all her energy into her work in order to provide for her family. Peggy worked at DECO Products for 25 years, where she met many great friends. She retired as paintline supervisor in 2014, due to her disease MSA-C.

Peggy enjoyed being outside working in the garden, mushroom hunting, fishing, bird watching, cooking and traveling. She also enjoyed collecting angel photos. Peggy had a big love for all animals. Her house was always full of pets, who adored her just as much but, the thing Peggy cherished most was being with her family, especially during holidays. She was very festive. Her house was always decorated and she made enormous delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. Peggy loved playing cards and games with her family as the room glowed of laughter and love.

Peggy is survived by her five daughters: Tabbi (Russ) Bries, Monona, IA, Samantha Pecinovsky, Decorah, IA, Barbie (Mike) Johnson, Ridgeway, IA, Lynn (Tony) Teslow, Decorah, IA, Teri Miller (Zak Mangskau), Decorah, IA. Ten grandchildren: Kylee and Autumn Bries, Thomas, Tyler and Trevor Pecinovsky, James and Jenna Johnson, Xavier Teslow, Miles and Declan Mangskau. Two sisters: Carolyn Kaltenbach, Viola, IA and Judy Urbanek, Cedar Rapids, IA. Two brothers: Daryl (Connie) Kaltenbach, Oelwein, IA, and Robbie (Jacci) Kaltenbach, Hazelton, IA. Twelve nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. And her beloved dog, Marley.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents: Lloyd & Eloise Kaltenbach and brother-in-law: Mike Urbanek.
