Curtis D. Peterson, age 70, of Decorah, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at Gundersen Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis.
Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation or memorial service.
Curtis Dale Peterson was born March 6, 1950, the son of Selmer and Stella (Tangen) Peterson. He attended Decorah Schools, and graduated high school in 1968. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Dotzler on Sept. 28, 1968. Together they had a son, Curtis Eugene.
Curt worked at Luther College, Sherwin Williams, and at Camcar. In 1976, he started working for the City of Decorah Street Department, where he worked for 29 years, 12 of those years as the Decorah City Street Superintendent. In 2005, he retired.
Curt had many hobbies, some were camping, fishing, riding his Harley, golfing. But what was most important to Curt was his two grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew.
Curt is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Decorah; son, Curt of Decorah; two grandchildren, Ashley (Dustin) Miller of Grimes and Andrew (Monica) Peterson of Decorah; his sisters, Grace Nesheim and Arla Ihde; a brother, Lester (Evie) Peterson, all of Decorah; along with many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his many friends.
Curt was very excited he was going to be a great-grandpa in 2021.
