Death Claims a Favored One.
Hallie L. Headington, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Headington, died at 11:30 o’clock last Friday evening, after an illness of but a week, from typhoid fever. Deceased was born Jan. 14th, 1874, and when a few years ago the family moved to Decorah she accompanied them. She was a graduate of the Decorah high school and later entered the business department of the Valder school, taking a course in stenography and typewriting. In 1893 she established herself in Acers & Cutting’s office and soon demonstrated an unusual proficiency which brought her a good and growing clientage outside of that which the office afforded. She was a young lady who, through her bright and genial disposition, formed the friendship alike of young and old. Especially was she a favorite among the young people and her presence among them will be greatly missed. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at five o’clock at the Unity church, Rev. A. G. Wilson officiating, and were largely attended. Many beautiful floral designs and bouquets betoken the love and esteem in which Hallie was held, and as the sun was sinking to rest her remains were laid in their last resting place in the Decorah cemetery.
