Evemarie “Evi” Styve, age 75, of Decorah, IA, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at her home in Decorah, IA.

Per her request, there will be no formal services for Evi.

Evemarie “Evi” Styve, was born on March 26, 1945, the daughter of Wilhelm and Elfriede (Schummel) Metz in Berglangenbach, Germany. Evi attended schools in Germany and worked for the American Government in Baumholder, Germany. It was at work, where she met her future husband, Ron Styve. They were married on March 12, 1969, in Baumholder, Germany. They moved Decorah on September 12, 1969. Evi started working at the Anderson Box Factory and then onto DECO, working there for almost 43 years, retiring on May 3, 2013. Evi adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed doing ceramics, baking, cooking, gardening and going fishing with Ron to the Mississippi. Evi found joy in giving to all those around her through her baking and cooking skills. She always enjoyed going to Pizza Ranch every Tuesday evening with friends. Evi was a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and Wellington Place Auxiliary as treasurer.

Evi is survived by her son: Jason (Nora) Styve, Cedar Falls, IA. Her two grandchildren: Sloane and Crew Styve, Cedar falls, IA. Her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Elaine and Jim Sims, Decorah, IA; Jerry Styve, Brownsville, TX; Wyonne and Ron Priebe, Owatonna, MN; and Paul and Joni Styve, Calmar, IA. Five nephews: Philip and Jean Sims, Mike and Kim Sims, Corey and Beth Sims, Brad Sorum, and Nick Priebe. Great nieces and nephews: Gavin, Jordan, Gunnar, Archer, Allison and Madison Sims, Ashton, Aniston and Adyson Sorum.

Evi was preceded in death by her parents: Wilhelm and Elfriede (Schummel) Metz. Her husband: Ronald Styve on January 7, 1991. Her mother-in-law: Hazel Styve. Her father-in-law: Peter Styve. Her sister-in-law: Willie Styve. Her nephew: Brett Styve.
