Francis Alvin Bolger, son of Adam Bolger, passed away on Wednesday, October 4th, after a brief but severe illness of about a week’s duration. He was 26 years old and died near the place of his birth. Some two years ago he was severely afflicted and lost the use of one lung, yet he recovered health and strength, so he was able to labor regu¬larly. The last attack was very sudden. Unable to be down for want of breath, he bore his sickness with patience but longed to go home and be at rest. He was converted and joined the M. E. church in Decorah, November 7, 1897. He was a faithful and loyal member. The funeral, conducted by Rev. J. W. Allen, was held on Saturday in the brick schoolhouse, north of town. The attendance was large and indicated the sympathy and esteem of the neighbors and friends. The burial was in the cemetery just beyond the schoolhouse.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born September 29, 1873 and is buried in the Russell Cemetery.
