OBITUARY.
Mrs. Simeon Drake died Tuesday afternoon, Aug 22d, 1899 at the age of 86 years.
Mary Adams was born in New London. N. H., Jan. 10, 1813, and was married in 1838 to Mr. Simeon Drake. To that union five children were born, two sons and three daughters, viz: Dr. Simeon Drake, Mrs. Mike Womeldorf, Mrs. H Tucker, Mr. Fred Drake and Mrs. Martin Rotnor, of whom the last two survive her. In 1856 they moved to Iowa and settled in Decorah. After acquiring considerable property in this county they moved to South Dakota, taking up government land soon after this, her husband died and she returned to Decorah, where she has lived most of the time since. Her death was the result of dropsy
The funeral services were conducted at the residence of Mrs. Elsie Decker, Rev. Allen, of the Baptist church, officiating.
