Late on Monday afternoon, while planting potatoes on his farm in Glenwood township, E. J. Evenson, brother of John Evenson of this city, suddenly fell to the ground and when assistance reached him he was dead. Dr. Swezey was called, Tuesday, to make an examination to ascertain the cause of death, and his opinion is that Mr. Evenson died from appoplexy. Mr. Evenson was born in Springfield township and was forty-two years of age. He was a single man and resided on the old homestead with his widowed mother and several sisters.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born March 22, 1856 and died May 22, 1899. He is buried in North Washington Prairie Cemetery.
