Brought home for Burial.
The funeral of Mrs. Carrie Allen will be held at the home of Mrs. J. Blackinton to-morrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, the remains being brought here for interment, beside her father and other relatives.
Deceased was the youngest daughter of Dea. Jas. Smith, one of a large family in pioneer times and of which ,the only surviving member is Mrs. Blackinton of this city. Mrs. Allen resided here from early in the fifties .until about 1870 when she removed with her family to Spencer. She was one of the charter members in 1854 of the Decorah Congregational church.Source: Decorah Republican Feb. 23, 1899 P 2 C 2
Mrs. Allen, mother of G. W. Allen, of this place, and Milt. Allen, Esq., of Sanborn, died here yesterday of heart disease, after an illness of several days’ duration. The interment will take place at Decorah, where Mrs. Allen formerly resided.
