—The aged mother of John C. Hexom died last Friday about ten miles from Madison, S. D., where the family home has been for several years. Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Hexom were among the earliest settlers on Washington Prairie. Ten children were born to them—seven sons and three daughters, John C. and Otto, of this city, and Charles, of Austin, being among the former. Mrs. Hexom was seventy-two years old and has been an invalid for twenty-five years.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Pernille who was born May 30, 1826 and died Feb. 3, 1899. She is buried in Lake Madison Lutheran Cemetery in Rutland, SD.
