Rebecca “Becky” Anderson, age 55, of Decorah, IA, passed away on Friday, August 28, in Cedar Rapids, IA from the results of an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago St. in Decorah, with Rev. Peter Kowitz presiding.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah.
In lieu of flowers: memorials may be sent to her daughter Anna Anderson at 711 Decorah Ave, Decorah, IA 52101.
Rebecca Sue Anderson was born on December 5, 1964 the daughter of Gordon and Marian (Thayer) Anderson in Decorah, IA. She was baptized and confirmed at Decorah Lutheran Church. Becky graduated from South Winneshiek and then received a Fashion Merchandising degree from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. After college, she moved to Des Moines and managed a clothing store called Braun's and then later worked for Principal Financial. While she was in Des Moines, she met David Stoddard and together they had their daughter Anna. Becky moved back to Decorah in 1998 and worked at Decorah Bank & Trust before taking a job with Advantage Credit Union which is now Marine Credit Union. Becky enjoyed traveling and took trips to Mexico and England among various other places. She loved spending time with her family and friends and her animals. She was active with her church and taught Sunday School for eleven years.
Becky is survived by her daughter Anna Anderson, Decorah, IA. Mother: Marian Anderson, Decorah, IA. Brothers: Paul (Beth) Anderson, Decorah, IA and Alan Neste, Decorah, IA. Nieces and nephews: Meghan (Scott) Wiedow, Denver, IA; Cory Anderson, Waverly, IA and Bryan Anderson, Decorah, IA. Great nieces and nephews: Hayden, Devin and Elliot Wiedow along with numerous aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father: Gordon Anderson. Anna’s father: Dave Stoddard and many uncles and aunts.
