MOTT - At her residence in Decorah, on March 11th, 1889, of consumption, Mary, wife of Geo. P. Mott, in the 37th year of her age. Deceased was a native of Indiana, having moved to Iowa with her parents in her childhood, and first settling near Waukon, from thence to southern Iowa, where her father and one sister still remain.
Mrs. Mott leaves a husband and one daughter who will deeply miss the devoted wife and mother. Her remains were taken to Perry, Dallas Co., Iowa, for interment, beside her little ones who await her where sorrow shall cease, and rest begin. Retiring and home-loving almost to a fault, still she had many friends whose kindness through the protracted sickness and afflictions of the family are deserving of highest gratitude and praise.
May Heaven reward those who have been "friends in need," is the wish of the writer.

May she in brighter spheres be ever blessed
And here remembered with a filial love;
And may her spirit find eternal rest,
In Heaven above!
