John Jester, aged 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Jester, residing in Washington township, died from injuries received. While he and a comrade were racing horses the animal Jester was riding bolted and threw him against a fence post. His spine was injured and he suffered other hurts. He never recovered full consciousness.
