Miss Mary Wayland went to Spillville Monday to attend the funeral of a cousin Frank Benda.

Mr. Jira of Protivin attended the funeral of Frank Benda.

Mrs. Jim Krall of Calmar was present here today at the funeral of her uncle Frank Benda.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Smith of Calmar were over last Sunday. The latter remained here until the next day and sang her part as soprano at the funeral of Frank Benda.

The funeral of Frank Benda occurred here this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the St. Wenceslaus church, Rev. Ballon officiating, who delivered a touching sermon. Anton Balik was the funeral director. Frank Benda died on Thursday, August 14, 1913, at Kansas City, Mo., which has been his home for many years. His health was poor for about thirteen years and he died at the age of 48 years. Mr. Benda spent his childhood years in this vicinity and was well known to many here. He leaves to mourn an aged father, five brothers and four sisters and other relatives. Their many friends sympathize with them in their bereavement. May his soul rest in peace.
