Another Old Settler Gone.
Mr. Gilbert C. Sleeper, of Canoe twp. passed away Nov. 23d, 1900, aged 71 years, 8 months and 23 days, He was born in Unity, N. H., and was one of the early settlers of this county. With the exception of a few years when he lived with his daughter, Mrs. Carrie Emery, in South Dakota, he has always resided here. About a year ago when Mr. and Mrs. Emery came back to Iowa he returned with them to the old homestead. He leaves a son and two daughters. J. RIDLEY.
