Mrs. Kate Chamberlin died at her home in Frankville, June 21, 1900, of consumption, after an illness of nearly a year. Last fall she took a heavy cold that settled on her lungs and finally ended in her death. She was nearly 39 years of age and was married to Henry Chamberlin some 20 years ago. Four children were born to this couple, three of whom are living now, one dying in infancy. Those living are Ernest, Beatrice and Stella. They with their father are left to mourn for a loving companion who lived a useful Christian life. Mrs. Chamberlin was a member of the M. E. church for a number of years. She was also a member of the Brotherhood of American Yeomen, and the order was out at the services and performed their part to show the esteem they held for their departed sister. A large concourse of people attended the the{sic} services. Her sister, Mrs. Mary Wilson, who has been in attendance a part of the time during her illness and brother Fred, who did all that loving hands could do in her last days, as well as her brothers, George E. Smith, of Charles City, and Wm. R. Smith, and C. M. Wilson and two sons, of Decorah, were in attendance at the funeral. The services were held at the Methodist church last Saturday morning, Rev. Will officiating, and the remains were interred in the village cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she is buried in the Frankville Cemetery and was born September 30, 1861.

OBITUARY.
Mrs. Henry Chamberlin died at her home in Frankville, June 21, aged 37 years, 8 months and 20 days.
Again we have been called upon in our community to witness the departure of a loving companion, a model mother, an honest friend, in the person of Mrs. Henry Chamberlin. As we look back upon her life, we can but place her in the file as a model person, one who was always ready to stretch forth her hand and aid all.
Kate Smith was born in Trenton, New Jersey. On May 22d, 1880, she was married to H. K. Chamberlin and to them four children were born, three of whom remain with their father to mourn the loss of a tender mother, a loving wife and a devoted friend, one who was always ready and willing to help In all times, until her health gave way to that dreaded disease, consumption, of which she was an uncomplaining sufferer to the last. She was patient and hopeful to the end, not thinking that her mission here on earth could be ended as yet. But her race was run and God took her to Himself to be with those who had finished their labor here on earth and have been called to those mansions above prepared by the blessed Master. Her last few hours on earth were but a quiet peaceful sleep. She simply went to sleep on earth and awoke in paradise.
