The Disappearance of Thorson Proves to be a Case of Accidental Drowning,
Early Monday morning: Nightwatch Rima found the body of Theodore Thorson, who was missing for two weeks, lodged against the wire fence near Reum’s slaughter house. The body was badly bloated and presented a horrible appearance. The suspicion of foul play was allayed by the finding of his purse, money and papers in the pockets of his clothes. The finding of the body at that place confirms the belief of all that the cries for help heard in the early morning following Thorson’s disappearance came from him, and that he was drowning then, having wandered into the river in his drunken condition. Drink was Theodore’s worst enemy. He was of a good natural, happy disposition and was strictly honest in his business dealings.
LATER—Dr. Jewell held an inquest over the remains, K. I. Haugen, John Greer and D. E. Reed acting as jury. The result of the investigation was a verdict of death from accidental drowning.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Hesper Lutheran Cemetery and was born Aug. 27, 1867 and died April 7, 1900.
