MRS. R. MONRAD.
After a sudden and very short Illness Mrs. Monrad, wife of Prof. Monrad, of Posten's corps of editors, died last Saturday afternoon. Up to Saturday morning she had been in usual health. She was not feeling well when her husband left for the office, and he had not been there long when he was summoned home and Drs. Hoeg and Smith called.
Everything possible was done, but death came during the afternoon, the cause being paresis of the heart. Mrs. Monrad was born in Norway and was in her forty-fifth year. She was a lady of refinement and education and during the recent residence of the family in Decorah and a former residence when Prof. Monrad was a member of the faculty at Luther College, she made many acquaintances. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home, Rev. Haugen officiating. A large attendance of friends and beautiful floral offerings from Seiskab and the employes of Decorah-Posten bespoke the sympathy which is felt for the husband and two children who survive to mourn her.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Anna Marie and that she is buried in Lutheran Decorah Cemetery and that she was born in 1855; however, they show she died November 24 and according to the above she died March 24.
