Obituaries.
The only son of Byron and Margaret Craft passed away last Wednesday of dropsy and heart trouble.
Jay Craft was born near West Union, in 1855, and would have been 45 years old next November. He has lived in Decorah the last three years and worked as a laborer. Doubtless his health has not been good for some time back but he did not give up and take to his bed until the Monday before he died.
There remain to mourn his loss his father who lives in Lewis, Kansas; Mrs. Jennie Sells, Oklahoma, who was present when he died; Mrs. Ostrander, of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. H. E. Truett, of Oakland, Cal.
The funeral, conducted by Rev. J. W. Allen, of the Baptist church, was held at the home on Washington street. The burial was in the Russell cemetery.
