Killed by Train
Gus Schuman. foreman for the Milwaukee on the section between Lawler and Jackson Junction, and his assistant, Thomas Henke, were struck by the Milwaukee No. 4 yesterday noon as they were traveling on their handcar near the Marron farm near Jackson Junction. Mr. Henke was killed instantly and Mr. Schumann suffered a broken arm, broken leg, and several fractured ribs. The train was stopped and Mr. Schumann was taken to Calmar and placed under the care of the railroad physicians — Decorah Journal.
