Death in Madison Township
Thursday morning as she was walking to school, Miss Drew, the school teacher of the school near Ole Forester’s place, found the dead body of Olaf Johnson under his demolished wagon. He had started from Decorah for his home south of Ridgeway Wednesday afternoon, and it appears his frisky team ran away. The reach of the wagon was broken and the lines so held the horses that they could not run further.
The deceased was the son of Chris Johnson and was about 30 years of age. He is survived by his wife—Decorah Journal.

Transcriber’s Note: Iowa Gravestone Photos show he is buried in Phelps Cemetery and was born Aug. 6, 1887 and died Nov. 15, 1911.
