ISBELL.
Henry Leland Isbell, only child of Arthur W. and Gertrude Leland Isbell, was born in Calmar, Iowa, May 31, l896, He was bereft of his mother at the age of eleven months. A few years later another loving mother came into his life.
Three years ago he came with his parents to Hood River where he has since lived. He was of a happy disposition and seemingly robust child, until last June when his health began to fail, and all that medical science and loving hearts and hands could do, failed to keep his young life here. He passed peacefully away at his home, Oct. 9, 1911, of sarcoma of the liver.
Leland had an especially bright and alert mind, and will be sadly missed in the Frankton High school where he had been a student during the past year.
That he was a general favorite among his school mate and friends was shown by the large numbers who came to pay a last loving tribute to his memory.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, 11th, from the first M. E. church where he had constantly attended Sunday school since his residence here.
The deep sympathy of the many friends was expressed through the numerous beautiful floral offering. One especially beautiful piece was in the form of a harp sent by the Frankton school.
Six of his young friends acted as hearers, and helped to lay him in his last resting place amid the flowers and sunshine in beautiful Idlewilde cemetery.
