Died in North Dakota.
Ole A. Urness and family were residents of this county from 1871 until 1896. Mrs. Urness died in 1890, and in 1890 Mr. U. followed his daughter Jane to Forman, Sargeant County, N. Dak. in the early summer report of his failing health called his other daughter (Miss Belle) thither, and now there comes to us the following report of the death of this kindly, genial old man, taken from the local paper:—
Ole A. Urness, aged 83 years and 9 months, after a protracted illness, died at one o’clock this morning (Sept. 26th) at the home of County Commissioner A. E. Land, where he has lived as a member of the family since 1896. He was a kindly and intelligent old gentleman, who acted well his part in life. He came to this country from Norway in 1862, settling in Wisconsin, and moved to Iowa in 1871, from which state he came to North Dakota. Mr. Urness was a widower and two sons and two daughters survive him. Miss Belle Urness has been with him most of the summer in order to join her sister, Mrs. Land, in lovingly caring for their good father in his decline. The funeral will be from the Land residence at 2 p. m. Saturday, (Sept. 28th) and interment in the Scandinavian cemetery.
