Another of our old citizens has passed away since our last items were penned. Lot Morgan Chamberlin was born Aug. 25, 1821, at Barnard, N. Y., and died at his home in Frankville, Monday, June 3, 1901, aged 79 years. He was twice married. The first marriage occurred Sept. 17, 1849, to Maria Bond. Seven children were born of this first marriage, three of whom are living,— Mrs. Dora Merriam, Omro, Wis., Henry, of Frankville, and Mrs. Amy Lamy, of the Isle of Jersey, Europe. The second marriage occurred July 24, 1867, to Mina Rankin. Four children were born to this last union, three of whom, with the widow, are left to mourn—Mrs. Hoyt, Maud and Gertrude, who are all at the home here in Frankville. The deceased was converted and united with the M. E. church in 1863 and has been a devoted Christian ever since. The cause of his death was Bright's disease, from which he has been a great sufferer for years, especially for the last three years. He has been a carpenter and worked at his trade while residing in our village, which has been for years. The funeral will be held from his home to-morrow at 10 o’clock, and Rev. Burgess will officiate. The interment will be made in the Frankville cemetery. Thus passes away a citizen who was an honor and credit to the town.
