MRS. THOS. MALANAPHY.
On Wednesday of last week, Mrs. Thos. Malaphy{sic} died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Kelley, in Bluffton township, aged 86 years. She was born in Ireland, and came to America with her husband in an early day. Their first home was in New Jersey. From there they came to Iowa and settled in Bluffton township, this county, where they continued to reside until eleven years ago, when Mr. Malanaphy died. Since then Mrs. Malanaphy has made her home with Mrs. Kelley. Old age may be ascribed as the cause of her death, as she was never seriously ailing. Life’s machinery seemed to gradually wear out and she passed away quietly. Of a family of six children, four daughters—Mrs. Kelley and Mrs. Patrick McCue, of Bluffton, Mrs. John Gilleece, of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Ellen Duffin, of Chicago—survive her. Two sons died in boyhood. The funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Bluffton, last Friday, Rev. Hawe officiating.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Julia. The above age doesn’t agree with the age on her gravestone – it shows she was born in 1819.
