Another Pioneer Gone.
Calmar Courier:—Sunday evening, March 17, 1901, at about 9:15, Erick G. Boe, an old settler of Springfield township, in this county, crossed the river to the unknown world, and his burial took place Thursday at Washington Prairie, the services at the house being conducted by Rev Paul Koren, and at the church by Rev. V. Koren. The deceased came to this county in the year 1858, where he has resided up to the time of his death, except one year spent In Dakota. He was one of the many sturdy Scandinavians who crossed the great ocean to seek his fortune in this country of freedom, and by honest industry built a pleasant earthly abiding place. He leaves five children to mourn his death: Andrew A., John E., Knudt, Mrs. Sjoboen and Mrs. Gusta Winger, his wife having gone before him about ten years ago. His age at death was nearly 79 years.Transcriber's Note: Find a Grave shows he was born May 23, 1822.
