MRS. BESSIE DAWLEY.
In Canoe township, Winnesheik Co., Iowa, Dec. 20, 1900, Mrs. Bessie Dawley, wife of Thomas Dawley, aged 73 years, 10 months and 5 days.
Bessie Bentley was born in Chautauqua Co., N. Y., July 10, 1827, nod was married to Thomas Dawley in 1847. They moved to Winnesheik Co , Iowa, in 1857 and settled on a farm in Canoe township. Five children were born to them, all of whom died in childhood. Mrs. Dawley was a kind neighbor, ever ready to help in sickness. A husband in feeble health is left to mourn. Eld. Ridley conducted funeral services at the home, after which she was laid to rest in the Russell cemetery.

Mrs. Betsey Dawley, better known as Aunt Betsey Dawley, departed this life on Dec, 20th. We have not the particulars from which to pen an obituary.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Bessie who is buried in Russell Cemetery and that she was born July 10, 1827.
