MRS. ANNA HALVEORON DIES
AT HER HOIME IN DECORAH

Mrs. Anna Halvorson died July 16, 1931, at her home on 1709 Washington Street, Decorah, due to advanced age; she had been ailing for the past year. The funeral was held Sunday, July 19, 1031, with Rev. O. Glesne and Rev. K. B. Vaaler officiating. Burial was made at the Norwegian Lutheran Church.

Anna Skeim was born August 3, 1840 in Sogn, Norway, the daughter of Andrew and Gertrude Skeim. She came to the United States in 1851, to Winneshiek County two years later and in 1901 moved to her home here in Decorah. She was married to Peter B. Halvorson December 8, 1865, at the Washington Prairie Church. The children born to this union were: Andrew, Mrs. J. Syslak (Sarah), John, Mrs. Hansey (Gertrude), Benjamin, Mrs. H. M. Sivesind, (Amanda), Henry, Otto, Theodore and Carrie Nelson of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Mrs. Sarah Tollefson of Moorehead, Minn., and Mrs. Ingaborg Roger of Twin Valley, Minn., are the surviving sisters.

Mrs. Halvorson was splendid mother, devout Christian and staunch member of the Decorah Lutheran Church. The Journal extends sincere sympathy to those who are left to mourn the death of such a fine lady.
