Kathleen “Kay” Humpal, age 87, of Decorah, IA, died on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Barthell O.E.S Home in Decorah, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 207 Church Street, Spillville, IA, with Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Monday, March 2, 2020, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 207 Church Street, in Spillville, IA, and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Tuesday morning. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Kay is survived by her seven children: Karen (Russ Jr.) Stevenson, Lime Springs, IA; Dale (Mary Jo) Humpal, Ridgeway, IA; Lonnie (Karen) Humpal, Decorah, IA; Dean (Lois) Humpal, Decorah, IA; Sally (Clair) Malanaphy, Decorah, IA; Tina (Donald) Shatek, Elma, IA; Darryl (Michelle) Humpal, Ridgeway, IA. Kay was preceded in death by her husband: Stanley. Daughter: Kathy (Alan) Taylor. Great grandson: Braxton Humpal. Parents: Peter and Agne (Bohr) Heying. Father and mother in-law: James and Christine (Phillips) Humpal. Three brothers: Hugo (Lucille) Heying, Irvin Heying and Larry Heying. Three sisters: Ruth (Ray) Langreck and Rosalyn (Eugene) Bodensteiner; Elsie (Donald) Timp. Brothers and sisters-in-law: William (Emma) Humpal, Adolph (Ludmilla) Humpal, Paul (Rose) Humpal, Rudy (Rita) Humpal and Robert Humpal.
