KUNTZ.
Barbara Kuntz was born Nov. 30, 1842 in Baden, Germany. She died on July 3, 1912, at the home of her son-in- law, John Reinhart, aged 68 years, 7 months and 3 days. When about six years of age she came with her parents to Ripley county, Indiana. In 1890 she came with her husband and family to Winnshiek{sp} county, Iowa. She was married fifty years ago to Andrew Kuntz on the first day of July, 1862. Ten children were born to this union, eight sons and two daughters. One child, Mrs. Henry Michael, preceded her mother in death about a year and a half ago.
In her youth she joined the German M. E. church, and was an active member as also were her children.
For the past year Mr. Kuntz has been in very poor health, and the constant care and watching was too much for Mrs. Kuntz. While willing hands offered to do the work for her, she would not listen to it, thinking it her duty to care for her husband and that no one else could comfort him. The sympathy of their many friends is extended to the husband and family at this time of sorrow and grief.
The funeral services were conducted from the house and the German M. E. church, Saturday July 6, assisted by Rev. B. W. Soper of Cresco. Interment was in the church cemetery adjoining.
