OBITUARY.
BENTS
Amanda Twitchell was born in Delaware Co., Ohio, Feb’y 14, 1822. When but a child she moved with her parents to Belleville, Ohio, where she lived until about 16 years of age, when they removed to Marion Co., Ohio.
Nov. 11, 1843, she was united in marriage to Henry Bents.
In 1847, they moved to Elkhart Co., Indiana, and later to Michigan. In 1855, they moved to Iowa.
After the death of her husband she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Martin Bents.{sic} There were seven children, one of whom, the eldest son, died some years ago. The six children who survive are Mrs. Martin Betts of Cresco, Alfred Bents of Cresco, Henry of Clearfield, S. Dak., George of Harrison, Ark., Newton of Jerome, la., and Mrs. Ellithorpe of Downing, Wis.
Mrs. Bents was an earnest Christian, and a life long member of the M. E. church. She died at the ripe age of 90 years, 1 month and 24 days
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the M. E. church, Rev. Gammons officiating.
