Our community was greatly shocked Friday morning to learn of the sudden death of Alfred Perry The day before he had tried to help a neighbor at threshing but the pitching of bundles produced an exaggerated heart action to such an extent that he was compelled to go home. After some slight remedies he was much better, and in the afternoon drove to Burr Oak with Mrs. Perry to do some trading. After much urging on the part of his wife, he consulted Dr. Emmons and secured some medicine but his condition was so much improved that he thought it was useless to take any of it. During the evening he was bright and cheerful and talked much of his early married life and incidents connected with it. He retired about the usual hour and rested quite well until about four o’clock, when his heavy breathing roused his wife. The family was called, Dr. Emmons phoned for and every thing possible was done to relieve Mr. Perry, but shortly before six o'clock he passed away without u struggle or seemingly without a quiver of a muscle. Nearly forty years of married life were allotted to Mr. and Mrs. Perry and all of it has been spent in this vicinity. Mr. Perry was a man who was faithful and upright in all his relations to the public as a citizen, kind and pleasant in his family, and considerate and helpful as a neighbor. His presence will be greatly missed in the community in many ways, and in their affliction the family have the sympathy of it wide circle or friends and acquaintances.
