GJERMO.
On Thursday last at his home in Fergus Falls, Minn., Lars P. Gjermo died following an operation for appendicitis.
For a year past Mr. Gjermo has suffered from attacks of this disease, recovering from each one. The last attack came while he was out rowing on Swan Lake. He was conveyed to his home, where the operation was performed on Tuesday but the disease had so far progress¬d that the operation was of no avail. Mr. Gjermo was born in Norway thirty-three years ago and came to America when about fifteen years of age. For several years he made his home in Decorah, holding the position of messenger and bookkeeper in the First National Bank. From here he went to Armstrong where he was engaged in the banking business until March last when he went to Fergus Falls to accept a position as cashier of the Scandia State Bank. On June 9, 1897, be was married to Miss Julia Tobiason, of Decorah, who survives him. The remains were brought to Decorah Saturday night and the funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the First Lutheran church, Rev. I. B. Torreson officiating. In her grief and mourning, Mrs. Gjermo is joined by a large circle of friends who held her husband in high esteem for his many manly qualities.

Transcriber’s Note: Iowa Gravestone Photos show he is buried in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery and that he was born April 6, 1869 and died Sept. 12, 1902.
