OLE E. BAKKE.
Word was received Sunday last, by the family and friends of Ole E. Bakke, that Mr. Bakke had died that day at Elkader, whither he went a short time ago for treatment for consumption. For a year or more, deceased has been in poor health and he sought relief from various physicians without success. He was the son of Erick Olson Bakke, one of the oldest and best known residents of Frankville township, and was born in this county. He was forty-seven years old and leaves a wife and eight children. The remains were brought from Elkader, Monday night, and the funeral was held yesterday, a large congregation of friends and neighbors by their presence attesting their sympathy with the bereaved ones, and their esteem for the deceased.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery and was born July 22, 1856 and died July 13, 1902.

Sudden at the Last
The Elkader Register reports the death of Ole E. Bakke and gives the following particulars as to his death:—
He had been sick with consumption for years and came here with his wife to seek relief at the hands of Drs. White & Miller. Sunday afternoon he was brought down town in a carriage and as he stepped out of it was seized by a violent hemorrhage. He was helped up the stairs but died shortly after reaching the office.
