MRS. C. E. SYKES,
Margaret Oldine Bye, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Bye, was born in 1882, in Red Wing, Minn. At the age of 14, she was admitted to St. Paul’s English Lutheran church by confirmation, in which church she has since consistently led a Christ-loving life. Nov. 7th, 1898, she was married to Corlice E. Sykes, and moved with him to Ellsworth, Wis., where they lived for two years previous to coming to Decorah. Some four months ago she fell a victim of consumption, being a constant but ever cheerful sufferer. About two weeks before her death she was taken to the home of her mother at Ellsworth, where she passed peacefully away at 7 o’clock, June 25th.She leaves to mourn her early death, her parents, a husband, one daughter two years old, one sister and a large number of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on the 27th, at the residence in Ellsworth, at 10:30 A M., and at St. Paul's church in Red Wing at 3 P. M., Rev. Reichert, officiating.
