OBITUARY.
Miss Johanna C. Thorson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Thorson, died at the family home in West Decorah at 4:30 o’clock Monday morning, June 23d Deceased was born at Highlandville in December, 1879, and has resided in Decorah but a few years, having come here with her parents. Something over a year ago she was afflicted with what at first was supposed to be ulcerated teeth. Several teeth were removed but when her suffering grew no less, in fact gradually increased, physicians at LaCrosse and Rochester were consulted who diagnosed her case as bone cancer. Returning home, she has awaited the development of the disease and endured her suffering with fortitude, patience and cheerfulness. For a month she has been confined to her bed and everything that family and friends could do was done for her. A funeral service was held at the home yesterday morning at 8:30 o’clock. Rev. I. B. Torreson officiating. The remains were then taken to the Highlandville church where a second service was conducted by Rev K. Seehuus. Burial was made by the side of other members of the family in the Highlandville cemeteryTranscriber’s Note: Iowa Gravestone Photos shows she is buried in the Highland Lutheran Cemetery and was born December 20, 1879.
