OBITUARY.
Another veteran of the War of the Rebellion has fallen from the ranks. Jason W. Hull was born at Lima, Rock Co., Wis., June 24th, 1844, and died in this city Sunday evening, June 8th, 1902. In October, 1861, before he had reached the martial age, he enlisted in the 13th Wisconsin Infantry, served his full term and re-enlisted as a veteran, and was dually discharged in November, 1865, with a record as a faithful soldier that his descendants may be proud of.
In 1870 he came to Iowa and located at Algona. In 1873 he married Miss Rebecca Hutchison, who with two sons and two daughters survive him. He came to this city in 1886, where he has since lived a respected citizen, faithful to all the individual and civil duties that fell to his lot. In his home, his place of business and among his comrades in the Post room, he has been true to all the close and intimate relations of life. He had been ill for a number of weeks and recovery was expected until a relapse occurred from which he was unable to rally. Funeral services were held at his late home yesterday afternoon, Rev. Dr. Willett and his comrades of the G. A. R. officiating.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Phelps Cemetery.
