Suicide at West Union.
From Judge Hobson we learn that Geo. Thompson, an old and much respected citizen of West Union, last Monday morning committed suicide by cutting his throat. He was in poor health and it is supposed the act was committed in a period of despondency.

Transcriber’s Note: Iowa Gravestone Photos shows he is buried in the West Union Cemetery and was born Nov. 28, 1832 and died May 12, 1902.

NOTE: One says he shot himself in the head and the other says he cut his throat.
