Took His Own Life,
Andrew Hanson took his own life last Friday morning, at his home a short distance northeast of town, by shooting himself through the mouth with a rifle. The ball passed up through the side of the head and death was instantaneous. Mr. Hanson was born in Norway and was 67 years old. He came to this country at an early age and when the war broke out enlisted in the 15th Wisconsin Infantry. Ever since the close of the war he has been a semi-invalid. For a week prior to his death his neighbors noticed that he did not seem to be quite right mentally and it is supposed he took his life while suffering from mental disorder. He and his family have lived in and about Decorah for thirteen years. He leaves a wife and six children who have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
