.JOHN THEILICH.
John Theilich was born in Saxony, (Germany.) April 21st, 1821, and died at his farm home on Section 2d, in this township, Wednesday night, last week, aged 80 years, 8 months and 17 days.
Mr. Theilich came to this country in 1849, and lived in Washington, D. C., until 1853, when he came to Iowa and begun work on the farm where he ever afterwards lived. Feb. 4th, 1855, he married Lydia Esther Holm, and to them were born seven daughters and four sons, of whom five daughters and one son, with the mother, survive him. These are Mrs. Mary Sagehorn, of Bolen, Worth Co., Mrs. Ellen Bernatz, of Spillville, Cornelius J. of Kensett, Worth Co., Mrs. Emma Frettheim, living on the home farm, Mrs. Carrie Hegg and Mrs. Esther Oehler, of Decorah.
In every particular an upright man, a worthy husband and father, deceased was a model. Faithfully he performed all of life’s duties, and peacefully, without a struggle or a spasm of pain he fell asleep, without knowing the pangs of disease.
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, Rev. M. Willett officiating. Burial took place in the Phelps cemetery.
