Julius Frana, age 79, of Fort Atkinson, IA, died on Monday, December 2, 2019, at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse, WI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2019 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, IA with Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Monday morning.

Julius Frana born on December 5, 1939 to Adolph and Otilia (Pecka) Frana in Decorah, IA. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, IA. Julius married Sonja Halverson on October 16, 1971 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. Sonja passed away on October 31, 1997. Julius lived on the family farm until 2012 when he moved to his apartment in Fort Atkinson. Julius worked various jobs including: Calmar Foods from 1995-99, working for Spectrum and farming for other farmers around the area. Julius enjoyed going out to eat, going to parades around the area, going for rides and he loved watching Everybody Loves Raymond on TV.

Julius is survived by Sister: Georgina Frana, Minneapolis, MN. Brother: Marc Frana, Charles City, IA. Sisters-in-law: Elaine Frana, Decorah, IA and Lois Frana of Ossian, IA. Brother-in-law: Roger Halverson, Decorah, IA. Special friend: Sandy Folstad.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sonja. Parents: Adolph and Otilia (Pecka) Frana. Seven brothers: Leonard, George (Marie), Adolph (Janice), Stan, Art, Jerome and Ermin (Wilma). Sisters: Martha and Viola. Father and mother-in-law: Roy and Mae (Sletten) Halvorson. Sisters-in-law: Monica Frana; Helen Halverson; Mavis (Otto) Proehl; Marilyn (Dean) Leonhart; Virginia (Arlin) Hanson.
