Brought Home for Burial.
The remains of Gilbert P. Haug were brought home last Thursday from Independence, where he died the day previous from pummonia{sp}, and the funeral was held Friday at 2:30 p. m. Rev. M. Willett officiating. Mr. Haug was born in Norway, Jan. 5th, 1844, and came to Decorah in 1862. Here on June 3, 1875, he was married to Miss Emma Simmons. Four children were born to them, two of whom, Mrs. C. P. Stouffer of Charles City, and Miss Ruby E. Haug, beside their mother, survive. Mr. Haug is also survived by two brothers, Peter and Edward, and one sister, Mrs. H. A. Hegg. During most of his residence in Decorah Mr. Haug followed the harness maker's trade.
